Ariana Grande-Butera,/,a.ri'a.n@ 'gra?ndeI/ AReeAHn@ GRAHN,day;[note 1,born on June 26, 1993) is an American actor, singer and songwriter. The four-octave range of her voice and her signature use of whistle registers have been highly praised by the media and critics. Grande has been awarded numerous times throughout her career which include two Grammy Awards and one Brit Award. She also received three American Music Awards, three Billboard Music Awards and nine MTV Video Music Awards.
Grande began her career in music when she was 15 years old. She was in the Broadway musical 13 (2008 Broadway). Her role as Cat Valentine on Nickelodeon's Victorious (2010-2013) as well as Sam & Cat (2013) earned her acclaim. After watching YouTube videos of Grande singing, Republic Records signed Grande to their label in the year. Grande's 1950s-doo-wop-influenced R&B and debut pop album"[2] Yours Truly (2013) it reached the top 10 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The album was instantly compared to Mariah Carey's duet voice and whistle register.
She continued to explore pop and R&B in her third and second album, My Everything (2014) and Dangerous Woman (2016). My Everything tried EDM, and became a huge hit with the singles "Problem", Break Free and "Bang Bang" as well as Dangerous Woman was her first of four consecutive top-five albums in the UK. Sweetener (2018) as well as Thank U, Next (2019), were her fifth and fourth studio albums respectively, which included trap music. Both albums were commercial and critically acclaimed. Sweetener received the Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album and the album Thank U, Next set a record for the largest streaming week for a popular album and was nominated for Album of the Year. The songs "Thank U, Next", "7 Rings", and "Break Up with Your Girlfriend I'm Bored" have made Grande the first solo artist to hold the top three spots on the Hot 100 simultaneously and the first female to be able to compete at the top of the UK Singles Chart. Grande's collaborations in 2020 with Justin Bieber ("Stuck with U") and Lady Gaga's "Rain on Me" each earned her the Grammy Award as Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. Grande added new tracks to the trap genre with her sixth studio album, Positions (2020), which both the album and its title track debuted at number one in the UK and US. Grande collaborated with The Weeknd to remix "Save Your Tears" and was her sixth US top single.
