Taylor Swift, the rarest pop phenomenon is a star who has managed to cross between the genres of country and mainstream culture, and has become an iconic figure in the world of pop. Swift also took on all over the world in the process. Swift let go of the influences from her country music as if they were an additional layer of skin and revealed she was among the best singers/songwriters of the generation she was born into. Swift could make the moment personal or harness it to her advantage. The skills she displayed were apparent on her early hits including the Neo-tribute Tim McGraw but her second album in 2008's Fearless featured a singer-songwriter figuring out the person she really was, and in the process finding an audience of mass. Fearless was a huge success worldwide and not just in the United States (where it received as platinum six times for Top Ten Hits Love Story as well as "You Belong with Me") as well as in Canada Australia and the U.K. and many other countries. Swift's next album, Speak Now, released just two years after the first one, consolidated the success of this album. It propelled Swift into the spotlight. Over the next three years, her fame grew -the albums - Red (2012), Reputation (2014), and 1989 (2014-2015) -- as she entered a new realm of pop with her skills already well-established. She stayed in the forefront of pop even when she dropped her style with her sibling albums folklore & Evermore in 2020.
